2023 Ford Escape Overview
The Ford Escape continues to be one of the top-selling models in the Ford stable, and if you’d like to purchase or lease your own, then you’ll be interested to learn that the 2023 Ford Escape is now available at Prestige Ford of Mount Dora. There are some big updates for this new model that continues the fourth Escape generation. Ford has revised the front and rear ends. It has introduced the Sync 4 software along with bigger touch screens. Ford has also introduced a completely new trim lineup that it believes will be clearer and more appealing to customers. In addition to the base model, those trim levels are the Active, PHEV, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite and Platinum.
Base Trim
The base model for the new trim levels is called the Base or simply the Ford Escape. It has a turbocharged three-cylinder engine—180 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque—paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is optional. It has 17-inch steel wheels. Advanced driver aids include a rearview monitor, automatic headlamp and high-beam control, frontal collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring and lane departure mitigation. Infotainment tech includes an 8-inch touch screen and wireless Apple and Android integration, and the interior also has cloth seating, air conditioning, a six-speaker sound system and onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.
Active Trim
The Active is the second of the 2023 Ford Escape trim levels available at Prestige Ford of Mount Dora. It features more chrome exterior trim and upgrades the wheels to alloy. It also adds a keyless open and power liftgate, and in the cabin, upgrades include push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, satellite radio and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
PHEV Trim
The Escape PHEV is the only of the 2023 Ford Escape trim levels to include the plug-in hybrid powertrain, which makes 210 hp. It includes all of the equipment thus far mentioned for the base model and Active. It adds 18-inch wheels. It upgrades the driver assists with rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane centering and evasive steering assist. The infotainment system is upgraded with a 13.2-inch touch screen and navigation, and the cabin also gets heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
ST-Line Trim
The 2023 Ford Escape ST Line continues on from where the Active left off. It adds 18-inch wheels, roof rails and underbody skid plates. It also has upgraded upholstery and a flat-bottom steering wheel. ST-Line select includes all-wheel drive and adds LED fog lamps, heated mirrors, remote ignition, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The ST-Line Elite adds even more amenities, including a wireless charging pad, and more driver assists, including a surround-view camera.
Other Ford Escape Options
One other option available for the 2023 Ford Escape is the Platinum. This is the premium model. It includes all of the equipment mentioned thus far minus the skid plates and the plug-in hybrid powertrain. It adds synthetic leather upholstery and a universal garage opener. There are also a number of individual options. There availability depends on the trim level, but all are available with the Platinum: trailering equipment, automate parking, B&O audio, leather seating and a panoramic sunroof.
