Ford Escape Review
The Ford Escape seats five and comes with four powertrains, so it's easy to find one that fits how you drive. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® produces 180 horsepower and gets an EPA-estimated 30 combined MPG with front-wheel drive.
If you want more power, the available 2.0L EcoBoost offers up to 250 horsepower and can tow up to 3,500 lbs. when equipped with the available Class II Trailer Tow Package, enough for a small boat on the Harris Chain of Lakes.
Two hybrid options also cut down on stops at the pump. The 2.5L Hybrid produces 192 total system horsepower and gets an EPA-estimated 39 combined MPG with all-wheel drive. The Escape Plug-in Hybrid produces 210 total system horsepower and can drive up to 37 miles on electricity alone (EPA-estimated), which covers plenty of local trips on a single charge. It also charges from a regular 120V outlet.
Inside, EcoBoost models give you 37.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and up to 65.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid models offer 34.4 cubic feet and 60.8 cubic feet, respectively. Every Escape comes standard with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and the Plug-in Hybrid adds a 13.2-inch center display.
