What's new on the 2024 Ford Mustang
The Mustang is all-new for the 2024 model, which kicks off the seventh Mustang generation. The Coyote V8 returns but with significant improvements that increase both horsepower and torque.
2024 Ford Mustang - Performance
The EcoBoost models have a 10-speed automatic transmission. The GT and Dark Horse models give you the option of the automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. The EcoBoost models are powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline four-cylinder engine: 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The GT and Dark Horse models are powered by the 5.0-liter Coyote V8. Base output is 480 hp and 415 lb.-ft. The performance exhaust increases it to 486 hp and 481 lb.-ft., and the Dark Horse further increases it to 500 hp.
Ford Mustang - Safety
Ford Sync 4 is standard with voice recognition and a 13.2-inch infotainment touch screen and a rearview camera. Pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, a blind spot information system, lane departure mitigation and adaptive cruise control are also standard. An active pothole mitigation system is optional and included with the Performance Pack.
Ford Mustang - Mechanical
Every new Ford Mustang near Orlando is a rear-wheel-drive vehicle. Keyless access and push-button start are standard. Remote start is optional and becomes standard later in the lineup. A limited-slip differential is standard, and you have the option of either a 3.55 or 3.15 ratio. With the GT models, you have a range of mechanical options, including the GT Performance Package, which adds a performance raised rear wing, Brembo brakes, a Torsen differential, performance chassis tuning and more.

Starting with the base trim, there are 10 standard exterior color options available for your Mustang: Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Dark Matter Gray Metallic, Grabber Blue Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, Oxford White, Race Red, Vapor Blue Metallic, Yellow Splash Metallic and Shadow Black. The lone premium option is Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. You can also add vinyl racing stripes, hood stripes and side stripes in a variety of colors.
