Vehicle Overview

Ford has announced that it will focus exclusively on SUVs and trucks in the coming years due to consumer demand. That may mean that the 2020 Ford Fusion is the final Fusion model—for a while at least. That should not result in drivers underestimating the Fusion, however. If you’re in the market for a midsize sedan, the Fusion available at your local Ford dealer serving Orlando Clermont Sanford Mount Dora is still one of the best values on the road. Another popular option in this segment is the 2020 Toyota Camry. Let’s see how they stack up in our 2020 Ford Fusion vs 2020 Toyota Camry comparison.

Orlando FL - 2020 Ford Fusion's Overview

Exterior - 2020 Ford Fusion

These vehicles are quite similar in exterior dimensions. The Fusion is built on a 112.2-inch wheelbase while the Camry is built on a 111.2-inch wheelbase. The Camry is a bit longer overall, however: 192.1 vs 191.7 inches. The Fusion is about three inches wider, which helps to create its distinctive look. It’s also a bit taller, and both vehicles offer similar ground clearance. The Fusion does have a much larger trunk at 16.0 inches, which is among best in class. The Camry, on the other hand, has a 14.1-cubic-foot trunk, which is below average for the class and can be limiting when shopping or going to the airport.

Passenger room in the rear seating is comparable. Both automakers offer similar interior options, but there are some notable items offered by Ford that are not available on the Camry: seat ventilation, driver seat memory, ambient lighting and premium audio.

Both Ford and Toyota offer strong standard equipment groups that feature many modern technologies, including driver assists. An area we think Ford distinguishes itself is the base options. A Fusion S with the Co-Pilot360 Assist, which doesn’t cost much more than the base trim, provides the best arrangement of amenities and technologies available in the class at that price point.
